The wait is finally over. After the mix-up with Inter Regionals last year, South Island Champs is coming back for 2026. We are also very excited to be hosting it down in the mighty Southland at Moana pools in Dunedin. The tournament will be held over the weekend of the 13th - 14th of June. Team entry will be $175. Individual women’s entry will be $25. Entries must be made by the 1st of June to form a draw and pools. The current proposed leagues are Open A, Open B and Open C, but do depend on application numbers. We are also looking to propose a similar open women’s grade like 2024. These will be mixed teams captained by selected players. These captains will have free entry into the women’s open grade. Players playing in the open women’s grade may also play in the open grades. Players in open teams may only play in one team. Entrants may also hire MCPA gear for the weekend. Gear hire will be set at $15 for the entire weekend.

All players must be affiliated to their local region as well as NZCPA to play in this tournament. The draw will be posted on Tourney a week before the tournament.
Additionally, with the rising uncertainty of fuel costs, MCPA and UCCC are looking into ways of reducing travel costs for players traveling around the South-Island. This will continue to be monitored and entrants will be informed promptly if plans need to change.
